Happy Sunday, everyone.  Welcome to the Weekly Devotions for Women.<\/p>\n

I certainly hope you had a blessed week and there were smiles and deep feelings of joy, and I thank you for joining in with the devotions for women.<\/p>\n

This week has been all about love.<\/p>\n

As a young girl in middle school and even into high school, I hated Valentine’s Day.<\/p>\n

It was a day that I typically watched other girls called to the office to pick up flowers or gifts from an admirer.<\/p>\n

Some parents took care of that so their daughters were called to the office.<\/p>\n

But, my parents thought that ridiculous and a waste of money.<\/p>\n

It seemed every year there was a boy I dreamed would buy me flowers…but only watched as he gifted another girl.<\/p>\n

Valentine’s Day was a day of rejoicing…when it was over.<\/p>\n

WEEKLY DEVOTIONS FOR WOMEN: REAL LOVE<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"devotions<\/p>\n

The fact is that I really had no idea what love was.<\/p>\n

Until I knew (beyond a shadow of a doubt) that the Lord is my loving Father.<\/p>\n

He showed me what unfailing love is and has been faithful with His love every single day.<\/p>\n

I have been overcome with it and washed in it….an amazing, powerful love.<\/p>\n

\"devotions<\/p>\n

I was so deeply moved this past week listening to actor James Van Der Beek speak of God’s love for him right before he left the earth to enter heaven.<\/p>\n

He said he discovered his true identity was in being a child of God…not merely an actor,  husband, or father though he loved all of those roles.<\/p>\n

Once I also learned that my true identity is as God’s child…I know longer cared if there were flowers on Valentine’s Day.<\/p>\n

Though God did gift me with Mr. B forty one years ago, and there have been a few flowers in there.<\/p>\n

But, when I need love…true love…I sit and spend time with my Father…who is always there to love me.<\/p>\n

\"devotions<\/p>\n

This is my prayer for you as well…that you would know how big God’s love is for you.<\/p>\n

His love does fill me full to overflowing…I never feel empty since I discovered this powerful love.<\/p>\n

I hope no one here was sad yesterday on Valentine’s Day…just remember, your loving Father awaits to spend time with you and to show you his unfailing love.<\/p>\n
