Happy Monday, all!  Welcome to my lifestyle post called Monday Notes at My House.

Monday Notes at My House covers a little bit of this and a little bit of that!  It is my weekly lifestyle post.

It has been 1 1/2 years since we relocated our loves from South Texas to West Texas, and every day it feels a little more like home.

Mr. B & I have lived in three homes together over our 41 years of marriage.

Each of the first two locations had a neighborhood eatery we could frequent for good coffee, sandwiches, soups and baked goods.

Our first one was called Twin Sisters…and yes, it was run by two twin sisters.  Very eclectic with a cozy, cool vibe…and great food.

The second neighborhood eatery for us was a franchise, but we still loved it…La Madeleine Cafe & Bakery.

Their fireplace in colder weather was a big draw with a steaming cup of French Roast Coffee.

We finally have found our new place to frequent near our neighborhood…and I am thrilled.

MONDAY NOTES AT HOME:  THE COFFEE SHOP

Mr. B discovered the MEZAMIZ COFFEE HOUSE on his own, but finally took me there this past weekend.

It is very artisan, eclectic and the sandwich, soup, and coffee I had was so good.  In fact, I feel confident in saying this is the best Tomato Basil soup I have experienced…ever.

Who doesn’t love a place that serves coffee in a cup like this one!  All affirmations welcome.

I love it …there were all types of people there…all ages…working on computers, reading books, playing chess…this is exactly what we were hoping to find.

We ran errands before we stopped for sustenance, and this is what I wore.

I have owned the J.JILL DOUBLE KNIT SWEATER JACKET for awhile…and it is on sale now.  It is a light cardigan.

I am wearing it with an Eileen Fisher chocolate brown tank top, Chico’s dark wash jeggings,  SAS SIMPLIFY LOAFERS…they say this color is antique wine, but it still looks brown to me…great shoes.

My necklace is artisan, and my handbag is an older Patricia Nash crossbody.

An outfit I like plus a new place to eat just equals smiles!

MONDAY NOTES AT HOME: TIME FOR COLOR

My nails are currently a vibrant, happy shade called CORAL REEF…and the brand is DND.

It is amazing how many positive comments I have received on this nail color since they were polished last week…I think everyone is ready for some spring color.

It really stands out with a darker outfit like I wore to the coffee shop.

But, the good news is….MY CLOSET REFRESH IS FINISHED!

Everything is organized by colors…heavy winter garments are hanging in another closet and as the cool weather ceases, more will move that direction.

I have a huge pile to prepare to take to a local re-sale shop…some of my other clothes sold well there.  I finally said goodbye to the majority of the wrong colors for me.

And then I have a large bag to donate.

I always dread diving into this, but once it is completed, I am so happy….a huge load lifted.

My new nail color gets lost among some of these garments…but that is OK…I still like it.

MONDAY NOTES AT HOME: NEW PRODUCTS ON MONDAYS

I mentioned recently that since I have begun to work with MY SHOP, more brands are introducing me to their products.

I want to make sure that you know about some of these products so you can check them out for yourself…and after I try some of these I will let you know if I learn something you should know.

Since I began my focus of living one day at a time, I honestly have developed more of an open mind to new things.  Somehow, that has replaced worry over the future.

So, welcome to the first of new products In Monday Notes.

I introduced you to Beauty Bio a few years ago at a special Dillard’s Event. 

They introduced me to several new skincare tips, such as their GLO FACIAL HYDRATION SYSTEM AND TOOLS.  I still use the tools today.

So, I am looking forward to trying the Beauty Bio EYELIGHTER CONCENTRATE...especially now that I am mostly free of glasses.  The de-puffing tool has me intrigued.

TIMELESS SKINCARE is new to me, but they do have an impressive presentation.

All of these serums sound excellent with the different ingredients they use.  I am going to try the yellow one first.

My skin responds very well to Vitamin C and that is one of the main ingredients of that first serum.  Again, I will let you know which I like the best

But, these are two brands you may want to check out yourself. 

In honor of my new introductions to new products and brands, this week will focus on new products for clothing.

Tuesday – Thursday will be new brands for you to enjoy…so I hope you will join me and enjoy learning about what is happening in fashion & beauty.

MONDAY NOTES AT HOME: BUSY TIME OF YEAR

I have been very busy since completing the two cataract surgeries, so I am yet to get to my book list.

This time of year is crazy busy in schools, and my daughter is slammed with all types of activities for the boys….academic and sports.

So, I am here to help out where she needs it.

Last Monday, was a school holiday for President’s Day, so I did spend time with all three of my grandsons.

But, I love so much that a local market has Cheap Chicken Mondays…you get 10 fried chicken legs for $9.00….only on Mondays!

Give the boys these legs with the deli macaroni & cheese…plus their favorite fruit…and it is a perfect, easy meal.

I know they will eat it all and not complain.

This is a happy way to end today’s Monday Notes at My House.  Cheap Chicken…gotta love it.

Monday Notes at My House begins an exciting week for me as a lengthy process of cataract surgeries, hopefully, comes to an end.

As we get closer to the end of the week, I hope to return with more posts featuring…Me!

I am so ready to be back to be able to go out and about more and plan better for the blog community and my family.

I know it was a busy weekend, and I hope the team and the Olympians you support were winners.

So, let’s keep the excitement going as I ask for your participation once again.

MONDAY NOTES AT MY HOUSE:  YOUR FAVORITE COLORS

Now that I have the ability to curate collections together with you in mind in MY SHOP, I need to hear from you.

If you do not know your best color palette, that is perfectly fine….I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FROM EACH OF YOU YOUR FAVORITE COLORS TO WEAR.

Even if you know your season palette, still share your favorite colors to wear…I know I do not wear all recommended colors in my SPRING PALETTE.

And, is anyone shopping for special events right now…how can I help?  It does help me to know the time of year, time of day, and any important details of the event.

I know if you told me you were shopping for a Spring Break event that could still mean cold weather clothing…so be as specific as you can…then I can go shopping for you.

Also, I think I know your favorite brand for most of you, but if you would like me to add one that you do not see, then please let me know.

I think this is so much fun…so do not worry about overwhelming me with information.

MONDAY NOTES AT MY HOUSE:  A NEW BRAND TO ME

Since beginning MY SHOP,  I have been contacted by more brands asking to send samples of their products.

I will share with you the ones I like on the blog and my IG/FB accounts.

Nopalera was a new brand to me and these two products do have my attention…I love the aromas.

The NOPALERA CACTUS HAND CREAM is my favorite…it feels luscious and smells amazing.  

I am going to empty this tube quickly.

I also like the aroma of the NOPALERA BOSQUE MISTICO PERFUME…it is a sweet smoky smell…but the Cactus is my favorite…I guess that comes with the Texan in me.

They have gift sets that I believe would be perfect to send to a mom, sister, friend, or someone you would like to bless.

So, far I like the products they sent.

MONDAY NOTES AT MY HOUSE: PANTRY GAMES

This is the second time I have gone pantry diving because I was stuck at home and did not want to pay expensive delivery fees.

So, here is what I pulled out…I used everything here EXCEPT the vegetable stock.

And created a Mexican Stew!

First, I browed a chopped yellow onion with avocado oil in a soup pot.

I added three minced garlic cloves.

Then I added one pound of ground beef…I wanted it to be chicken…but all I had in the freezer was this ground beef which is very high quality from Good Ranchers.

I stirred a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and all of these ingredients together until the meat browned.

Notice on the Mixed Chili Beans and the Mexican Street Corn that it came with its own spices.

But, I decided to risk it and poured all of these together…the black beans, chili beans, street corn, tomatoes & chilis, and the whole bottle of mild green sauce (Fire Roasted Salsa Jalapeno).

I stirred for a little while…tasted…and decided to add a package of McCormick taco seasoning…that has been in the spice cabinet for a few months. (but I did check expiration dates!)

I also added a tablespoon of fresh ground CUMIN, and a 1/8 teaspoon of salt and pepper.

I did not add any stock because it did not need anything else…this was very good.

I love to do this type of experimentation…especially when it works.

If I was not on WW, I would have made a pan of cornbread to eat with it.

The WW points are low here…I calculated four at the most.

The best part of being at home the last three weeks has been pantry games…what can I make with what I find?

If everything goes as planned, I will be sitting in this chair on Wednesday in the Optomitrist office for a final verdict.

Sunday Reflections is different every week because it features what I have been doing the past week and what I see in the week going forward.

I reflect often…keeps my mind active…and I enjoy reflecting about this blog community and my family and new life in a new town.

Let’s begin with my wardrobe reflections as we enter a new time…and warmer weather and longer days are finally in view.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: GENTLE WARDROBE TRANSITIONS

I completely realize that it is not Spring on the calendar just yet…however I do begin a few gentle wardrobe transitions at the beginning of March.

Most of my outfits lately have been for winter temps, but when I wore this one to the science fair, I began to wear lighter tops underneath (lighter than sweaters).

I move most of my heavier winter items to another closet at this time, and wear the ones with more color.

Purposeful layering during this time of year in Texas is very important.  I think about what my look would be if I took off the topper and ditched it during the warmer times of day.

We often begin cold…warm up…and then cool down after sunset.

I am sitting here looking at beautiful sunshine and listening to the birds, but must resist temptation to go too far with a spring outfit and end up out of place or cold.

Since, I love color, gentle transition for me means bringing more color into my outfits.  Get ready to see me in alot of green!

Everything you are looking at right now has been in my wardrobe for awhile and I cannot link to them.  

But I can encourage you to begin to think about wearing your best colors now that March is underway.

Spring may not be official, but you can begin to wear those styles!

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: ESTATE SALES

Jess and I attended an estate sale this week….I actually tried to get her to buy this apron for a Holiday White Elephant Gift Party!

I am so thankful that I can make estate sales now…it was tricky when I lived in a larger city and there are huge crowds to fight.

But, I have made a new friend who runs an estate sale shop and she gave us an invite to the preview night which was for a smaller audience…and it was so much fun.

I was thrilled to take home POTS!  I think I purchased six that were quite the bargain.

Most of the nicer ones I purchased were for inside the house….and these ran from $6 to $10 dollars each.

Since this house gets lots of light, I am going to plant herbs in the majority of the pots.

Jess discovered a lovely painting from 1920 of a cathedral in England…it is small and authenticated and beautiful.

But, she thought too long on a pair of Italian sconces…when we went back the next day, they were gone.

We had fun though and will be doing this more often.

I so want to buy plants but believe there Is at least one more significant freeze to come, so I am trying to hold off for now.

But inside, I can have fun and plan to go to the nursery for herbs this week.

I also purchased this book at the estate sale.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: FEELING LIKE ME

I am so excited to finally be feeling like me and going strong on the path to improved health.

It has take too long after the two foot surgeries and toe removal to begin to feel like me.

But, a combination of OsteoStrong workouts, moving more and improved diet are working!  Finally!

I am pointing to the wall at OsteoStrong where you get posted for reaching certain benchmarks…and I made the wall!

Please, no judgement on my appearance…this was after the workout.

This is the machine that strengthens bone health in our spines and it has been the biggest challenge for me.

But this week, I beat my best and showed improvement.

In my last bone scan, this is the area that needed the most help and I am on the right track to Improvement.

If anyone is new here, please catch up with my OSTEOSTRONG POST.

I continue to do the red light therapy at OsteoStrong  on my foot…since it was suggested this will help the scar tissue that has affected the mobility of my foot.

I have been encouraged to be patient…faithful to do the treatment once a week for four minutes…and to have hope it will help.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS:  PASTA REVIEW

Last week in Sunday Reflections, I told you I had purchased this CACIO e PEPE PASTA MEAL KIT.

Mr. B loves pasta and black pepper and likes to eat pasta for carb loading before a big race.

So, I prepared this for him on Friday…and he loved it.

If you also have someone who likes pasta and black pepper, then I highly recommend….and the pepper infused olive oil in the kit is delicious and will be used for other meals.

Something else that is new in this household, is that I am making all of the fresh vinaigrettes for our salads and no longer purchase any salad dressings.

So, far he likes it and I can mix it up every time depending on the ingredients I have on hand.

Once I get those fresh herbs growing here, I can do more in with the vinaigrettes.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: LESSONS FROM THE BIRDS

Mr. B says we are officially “old” now because we both love watching the birds and feeding them daily.

Here are some in our trees waiting for him to fill the bird feeder.

We finally saw some of the smaller, more colorful ones this week.

When I looked at them, I remembered one of my favorite verses in Scripture and thought it would be a perfect focus for this week….

When I have a Scripture focus for the week, I read it daily during my morning prayer time.

I encourage you to do the same.

Happy Sunday before Christmas Day!  Welcome to my weekly lifestyle post called Sunday Reflections.

My Sunday Reflections include pondering the week ahead…which often gives me the greatest joy of the year and the greatest sadness at the same time.

My greatest joy always centers around family and the reason for the season, celebrating Christ.

I love to arise and prepare the Christmas Day breakfast and then sit with a warm beverage and watch the gift opening.

I enjoy more giving the gifts than receiving them.

This year we will not all be together as we have been in the past…and that is my deepest sadness of the week.

Of course, I am not a fan of December 26 either when it is all over…the season goes so quickly and into January will be put into boxes and packed away again.

But, I never pack away my joy or my hope that next year we will all celebrate together again.

I do have other Sunday Reflections on my mind today, so join me as I share a few thoughts.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: EMAIL UPDATE

I designed a new logo this week.

The one with pink flowers was nice, but not really me.

I was motivated to design a new one, because I have decided to use a new email service and hope to set it up soon.

It grieves me that so many of you have experienced problems with email, so I hope this will remedy those issues.

I ask for patience because as I discontinue one service and set up the new, there may be a few kinks, so after I tell you we are official with the new, let me know if you are receiving it.

We may have to sign up some of you again, but I will be on top of it.

End of year is a good time to make a major change like this…please know that I hear you and I am responding.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: GIGI’S HOUSE

Most of you know that I am spending ALOT more time with my three grandsons now.

Most often, I will have fruit and yogurt and peanut butter for them to snack on

However, the holidays are a bit more fun…and this one is eating Blue Belle’s Christmas Cookie Ice Cream (Which is a big hit with this crowd) and watching...Bluey, of course.

I agree to have more sugary fun during this time….they don’t eat the snowmen on top of the cinnamon roll, but they squeal when they see it.

Every day they are hear I give them JUICE PLUS CHEWIES, which cover their fruits and veggies for the day.

After Christmas, we will return to the healthier options of treats…these guys can eat mass quantities of blueberries!

I am pleased that when they settle into a visit, they ask for Juice Plus.  

I do not work for Juice Plus.  I wanted you to know about it.

Mr. B and I take our food supplements daily and have for years.

SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: FLEXIBILITY

Flexibility has always been difficult for me.

I often make lists and plan my days ahead of time…so when spur-of-the-moment requests hit, there are times I do not respond well.

Now that I live in a new place where I am needed for different reasons, I am practicing flexibility with a smile.

For me this often takes prayer.

Last week I shared about the plumbing, well, this week, I have been without my car…it got sick and has been at the “doctor” for days.

That also requires flexibility…but I am getting better about accepting that I am not in charge.

Christmastime helps with this, because I can focus on that sweet little teenager who was told by an angel that she would be the mother of God’s Son without being with a man.

Mary asked questions as anyone would, but then responded: “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.”

She is such a good example for me.  When the day’s needs present themselves not on my daytimer, I want to say “I am the Lord’s servant.”

And in Luke 1 beginning in verse 46, you may also be encouraged by Mary’s Song:

My Summer Sundays in Texas is a different post from week to week depending on my reflections of the week.

Today’s post came with an unexpected flood of emotions that perhaps I should have expected.

I would like to share with you the story of my under-the-stairs-closet.

So, I hope you will join me today on a cleaning journey for time with a messy closet in Summer Sundays in Texas.

SUMMER SUNDAYS IN TEXAS: THE CLOSET 

Just a few days ago, this closet was brimming to the point that items fell out when the door was open.

I have needed to clean and organize it for well over 25 years. 

Before you judge, I was a full time teacher, a blogger, and mom to three very active children.  The closet was ignored for so many reasons.

I believe I shared with you that as my grandchildren grew, all six loved hiding in the closet and even reading and snacking in the closet….looking for treasures…and going through family pictures.

I knew this job was going to be as stinky as a baby’s dirty diaper…but I also knew it had to be done.

Almost a year ago, my oldest granddaughter, Kinsley (7), began to tell me that she wanted to help me clean it out…she desired to see what treasures it held.

Well, Kinsley is a VERY busy young lady with friends, swim team, dancing, church activities, and family.  But, she continued to say, WAIT FOR ME!

So, I did…and, lo and behold, last week one day popped up free on her calendar and I said, “Let’s do this!”

SUMMER SUNDAYS IN TEXAS: THE TREASURES

I clearly had forgotten what loomed at the back of this large closet that is right under our staircase.

One fun item was a stack of albums (you know, they say vinyl now) and it has Mr. B considering the purchase of a turn table…he is pretty excited we held on to these.

Kinsley was stoked to find a huge bag of beanie babies in like-new condition.

I believe these were my daughter’s at one point and I did keep them with future grandchildren in mind.

Everyone gets to pick out favorites and she was super excited to share this bag with her siblings.

It took us over an hour to remove everything and categorize what was there…including making a huge Goodwill pile.

It is a little embarrassing when a 7-year-old holds up an item and says, “You don’t need that.  Donate it!” 

When the closet was empty, we made strawberry smoothies and watched Bluey!

SUMMER SUNDAYS IN TEXAS:  OVERWHELMING GRATITUDE

After Kinsley left, I was looking at five huge…and I mean HUGE…boxes of pictures and family memorabilia.

Going through these boxes, creating smaller boxes for each child, and a family history box covered the next two days.

It was a deeply emotional experience…I laughed and cried…with Tux watching me work.

The photo here is off a newspaper article that featured my family.

A newspaper reporter for the San Antonio Express News contacted our private school and they were looking for a family that was focused on teaching values to their children and how it was being done.

The school knew that we had set character goals for each of our children, so they gave the newspaper our contact information…after they called and received approval to do so.

(Now that I think about it, I am pretty amazed that a whole article would be written on teaching values to your children and that this was unique to the newspaper!)

Those three children you see in the article now are all married with children…and I could not be more proud of them.

I found the old target that Mr. B and I had sketched out when we became parents…I always intended to have it drawn into poster form by an artist…but never did.

We purposed that day that every decision we made as parents would be done with the intention of having our little arrows hit this target.  

In Psalms 127:3-5, the Word says, “ Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.  Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them.”

I have to say, that for my children, they all hit this target.  How they share their faith with others Is in their daily walks and sharing with their own children now.

The five huge boxes of photos walked me back through our lives and included friends and family who have passed on…looking into their faces and the impact they had on our family was sobering.

Yet, looking back with them was also with deep gratitude that we shared life with them.

Remembering the difficult times was also with great gratitude, because God never left us and I am so thankful of where we are today.

I am actually glad that I did not quickly clean out the closet at a time I was too busy to appreciate it’s contents.

It can use a coat of paint, and the carpet a good cleaning, but it is now organized and ready to keep going.

Thanks to my precious little Kinsley for pushing me forward……she is an amazing organizer.

SUMMER SUNDAYS IN TEXAS: MAKING A NEW SPICE

From the closet to the kitchen, I also made a new spice this week…A Mediterranean Spice…. using my spice grinder and Bobby Flay’s recipe.

I like it so much I am using it on many recipes…I will share a couple with you this week.

Here is the recipe for this spice: (I grind the spices separately, pour in a bowel and whisk together)

2 tablespoons of fennel seed

2 tablespoons of coriander seed

1 tablespoon of mustard seed

1 tablespoon of cumin seed

2 teaspoons of ground tumeric

1/2 teaspoon of cayenne powder

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

1 tablespoon of sea salt or kosher salt

1/2 tablespoon of freshly ground black pepper

This is really good …so far I have put it on chicken, and veggies.

It is cold this weekend in South Texas, so a warm beverage is on the menu this morning.

However, they say…”they” being the weather experts, that next week we will hit the 80s.

Sometimes it is hard to know when to put coats away….when to plant….etc. 

This time of year a freeze can happen one moment…heat the next.  That is South Texas for you.

As I said, today, we are cold…so get cozy and let’s begin Sunday Mornings at Home.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME: SAN ANTONIO STYLE

Last week was fun for me fashion-wise.

I was able to dress up for a couple of reasons and I enjoyed it…despite the need to wear my Brooks Sneakers everywhere.

This is an old Chico’s outfit that I tossed on Friday to run errands. I am glad that I have kept it in my closet…love the merlot color also.  (BTW.. CHICO’S SPRING SALE IS ON)

I only share this because a few asked me to share from my current closet…and this would be from about four years back.

While out and about, I did find a women I believed embraced a little San Antonio Style.

She was working at Marshall’s and I loved how her garment sent a message of artistry, creativity, fun.

Though a petite woman, she still looked stylish and fun in this oversized, long top over leggings.

And she wore this outfit with great confidence.  You go girl!

Besides her outfit, I saw many lovely decorations for spring while in Marshall’s.  Gets me excited for blooms on the horizon.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME: YOUR INPUT REQUESTED

I made a commitment to you to share different price points and brands with clothing.

During my shopping for this Mother-of-the-Groom, many asked that I do more posts from higher end retailers…this is the group I call SHOP QUALITY AND SHOP LESS.

Then there are the thrifty fashion lovers, who desire assistance with their budgets and want affordable options.

I love both groups and love shopping for both groups.

But, for the life of me, I do not understand why some of the comments get so ugly!

When I posted recently a couple of higher end brands, some members of the other group literally went on the attack.

One woman even impugned my integrity.  That was when I wrote a long comment back to her.

Her implication was that bloggers are not honest and only say what will sell the products to make them money.

There may be some like that….BUT THAT IS NOT ME.  Why would someone be this ugly?

Sadly, when we posted about our Old Navy shopping trip on Friday, it began with an ugly comment.

Of course, I can do what I have done for 14 years and ignore the grumpies.

What I want to know is…how does this effect those of you who read daily.   Would these type of comments keep you away?

If I discover that is the case, then I am going to be forced to block individuals who speak unkindly and with anger.  Of course, I will notify them.

But if you can ignore it and even look at some of the things they say with a sense of humor, then I will let it go.

But, as I said….I just don’t get it?  Why would the price or the quality of clothing make some so angry?

As Deborah wrote in her comment on Friday, “It is up to us shoppers to weed the garden!”  Well said1

Not every brand is for every woman…and if not for you…just come back tomorrow.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME:  UPDATES

I have been cooking for grandchildren, so it has been a busy weekend.

When I stand for long periods, the foot does still swell and become painful.

However, I had some teeny weeny steps of progress at PT last week.  My big toe moved for the first time!  Hurray!

And I was able to balance on one foot without holding on for a few seconds.

PT continues next week, and she has cleared me to walk for ten minutes in the neighborhood (no treadmill).  With warmer weather this week, that will be easier to accomplish.

Slow and steady will win the race.

Any thoughts you have on Sunday Mornings at Home?  Would love to hear…if I do not jump quickly into the conversation, I am with family, but will eventually join in.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME: THANKSGIVING HIGHLIGHTS

Thanksgiving was full of great food, laughter, games, football and overall enjoyment of having all of us together.

Family and traditions are so important…and really the part of America’s foundations.

The kids are playing hot potato here…which can get surprisingly competitive!

The real fun was in playing Family Feud with two large teams!  A shout out to one of my DIL’s for hosting a fun day!

I sat in a lounge chair and just watched an enjoyed the smiles around me…such a blessing!

I wore my navy SPANX AIR ESSENTIALS…cozy, warm, comfortable and I am loving it right now…the wide leg pants are perfect for my current life and on sale!

Her home looked lovely.  

One of her simple touches that I loved for holiday home decor was to place small lights in her pothos ivy in two pots on either side of a cabinet.  

I just cannot get enough of lights…no matter their size…this time of year.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME: SANTA’S HELPERS

For the first year in awhile, Mr. B and I had Santa’s helpers to get us started with our own home decor.

My grandsons did an amazing job on one of our trees and it was fun to watch them going at it.

They also added some original artwork!

Always love the personal touch!  His snowman’s name is Snowy.

Mr. B and I have a long way to go, but since I am grounded my mantra this year is LESS IS MORE.

All of the holiday home decor may not be out, but I am choosing to love what we are able to do.

I am going to write more about the emotional side of recovery during my favorite time of year later…still processing it all.

She wanted to share a display she saw while out and about.

She wrote:

Thanks so much, Janet…I hope we can visit some day.  These are inspirational and would be easy to emulate at home.

Karen continued to inspire those who are looking for different colors in your home decor.

This is her vintage tree that she puts up in special places.

Karen wrote this special message:  It’s white, though that’s difficult to tell in the photo, and is decorated with vintage and family ornaments that are pre-1955. Many are much older and some are from my grandmother and from my mom’s childhood.  I have lights that include a lot of pink (girly!) and didn’t photograph well, so I left them off for the photo. This tree has a lot of meaning for me, as does my main tree, which is also decorated with ornaments from my sons (handmade in Sunday school!), from my childhood and theirs, and ornaments made by my grandsons. We are very traditional in this family!! I do have ornaments that I find each year that “speak” to me so the main tree is always in progress! My oldest son continues our family traditions with his family, and the grandsons come home from college on weekends to be part of that. For me, it’s all about Jesus and family!

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME: SURGERY UPDATE

My second surgery is scheduled for early Monday morning…really early!

I hope to still have content here for you to read and keep the Season of Joy Going.

But, I honestly do not know what this week will look like!

Thank you so much to everyone who has offered your prayers up for me…hope this is the last surgery for a long time.
