Wardrobe Building with J.Jill New Arrivals

J.Jill new arrivals

Happy Wednesday, friends!  Today is about how I am continuing Wardrobe Building with J.Jill New Arrivals.

Wardrobe Building with J.Jill New Arrivals is focused on how my J.Jill clothing all plays so well together as a wardrobe.

J.Jill asked to send me an outfit from their new arrivals…which is a perfect collection to give us garments that transition nicely from winter to spring.

So, I wore this outfit on a date night with Mr. B…a little Friday night Mexican food is always a good idea for us.

So, come learn more about J.Jill New Arrivals….

WARDROBE BUILDING WITH J.JILL NEW ARRIVALS: WHAT’S NEW

J.Jill new arrivals

J.Jill sent me this outfit to style for you from the new arrivals…really cute casual style.

Everything they sent to me is in the XL size that I have worn in most of the garments I own from J.Jill.

I love the star of this look, the WEAREVER DOUBLE-BREASTED SWEATER BLAZER in navy….however, I could size down on this garment.

I also loved the top underneath…so soft and comfortable.  I will wear this often.  It is the PIMA-COTTON LONG-SLEEVE TOP in a cream/navy blue stripe.

They did send the TIE-WAIST WIDE-LEG JEANS in the Bleeker Wash.

These are very cute on…however, the button waist was just a little tight on me.  I need to lose about five more pounds to comfortably wear these jeans…they also are very soft.

I will get there and when I am in the jeans…I promise to show you.  I like them enough that it is worth it to me to hang on…because I am determined to keep the weight loss going.

But, because I have built a J.Jill wardrobe within my own, there were other pants that I was able to wear with the rest of the outfit.

With this top and jacket, I like the PURE JILL 5-POCKET JEANS or any of their knit slim let pants.

The wonderful people sent J.Jill new arrivals in the accessories to top off my date night outfit.

These are the BREE POINTED TOE LOAFERS…chic pointed toe flats that will elongate your look and create a slimming style.

And I still love to wear my BORN AXONA DRIVING MOCS.

And you will find other excellent footwear selections online with J.Jill.

The hand bag is the LEATHER HOBO BAG...one lady on the date asked where I found this purse.

WARDROBE BUILDING WITH J.JILL NEW ARRIVALS: MY OWN PICKS

J.Jill new arrivals

I told you yesterday I am back focused on wardrobe building with my Spring Palette colors and I was pleased to see some of these colors in the J.Jill new arrivals.

Like this lovely coral …this is the TIPPED V-NECK SWEATER in a pink macaroon heather/coral.  Looks very nice.

J.Jill new arrivals

I have this red/pink stripe in a heavy sweater and like it…so I am drawn to a lighter weight knit.

This is the PIMA 3/4 SLEEVE SCOOP NECK TEE….however, all comments say it runs small.  This is good to know…there are several color offerings.

More than one of my best colors are in this spring print.

This is the PIMA COTTON BAND-COLLAR SHIRT.  The print is called english rose floral medley.

These are on my radar to join in with my J.Jill wardrobe building.

WARDROBE BUILDING WITH J.JILL NEW ARRIVALS: MR. B LIKED IT

J.Jill new arrivals

The date always goes a little better when Mr. B likes what I am wearing and he liked the outfit from the J.Jill new arrivals a lot.

That is a big plus.  Thanks to J.Jill for providing the look.

I am so into soft clothing…is anyone else that way?

I do love the soft pieces at J.Jill so much…very comfy to wear.

Let me know if you have any questions about Wardrobe Building with J.Jill New Arrivals…if you are wondering, I will be here tomorrow….until then…

  1. You know I always love to see you wearing items from my favorite retailer, JJill! In fact, when I was looking through your previous posts and my own photos during our email correspondence last week, I realized how many items are in my closet because “Pam said look what JJill has!” It’s so nice following a blogger who shares my style, even if we are now wearing different color palettes.

Can you give a report on those gorgeous shoes from a fussy feet perspective? I am having increasing issues with my post-surgical foot (hammer toe returning in the same toe that was “fixed,” more numbness, increased nerve pain, etc.) I love a classic suede shoe like that, and that color is perfect for me, so I am just wondering about the support and comfort level. They looked so elegant on your feet, and I’m not surprised Mr. B was all in on your look!

If Alfredo’s is still in Abilene, it used to be my favorite place for TexMex when I visited. It’s a tiny place in an old fast food building on the main drag through the downtown area near where it splits, if that helps you locate it. The photo of the restaurant you visited had me immediately craving the scent of refried beans and tortillas, so guess where I’m going tonight for dinner!

  2. We have a lot of Mexican restaurants here, and they are my absolute faves for a Friday night. Suede shoes are impossible in our sloppy winters, but I loooove them … great choice! You look amazing. I’ve always loved JJill. At my style session at House of Color, I was told that because of my face shape, I could wear any neckline, but a drapey one was one of my best (to draw attention to the bust area vs my hips). JJill has a cowl neck sweater I got a few weeks ago that I love. I totally agree on the softness. I think a softer fabric flatters our curves and feels good on sensitive skin. I’m over being uncomfortable or fussing with my clothes. I also find JJill’s fit model to be more flattering to the tummy, and some of their trendy pieces kind of “rein it in” appropriately, as, for example, their wide leg jeans, which are cut a little slimmer. I do wish some of their colors were a little less heathered and drab.

  3. These shoes are great for a date night…but they are not walking shoes. My feet did great wearing them for this evening out. They are lovely.
We were at a restaurant called Miguel’s. The food is very good…I had shrimp tacos and he had enchiladas! We eat Mexican out more than anything…the San Antonio in us.

  4. That shirt is so comfy that I may wear it tomorrow to the surgery center…it is really soft. I agree with you on the colors and maybe by spring we will see some brighter ones. Thanks Linda.

  5. I absolutely love the pointy toe flats on you – so very flattering. How are they for comfort? Pointy toe flats are my go-to shoes when possible and will be keeping my eyes on these for a sale. Best of luck to you this week with your cataract surgery – I can imagine how anxious you are to have it done and in the rear view mirror.

  6. I love pointy toe flats and I was thrilled that these had a toe box that would work for me. They are not walking shoes, but they are going out for a date date, or event shoe. Comfortable if you are not going distances. I just started the eye drops so we are headed towards the first surgery tomorrow! Thanks Tess.

  7. I love jJill clothing and own a lot, but I find autumn colors more difficult to find. The basics tend to skew grey to my eye, which I always feel look more like a summer’s color when I hang them in my closet to see how they blend with my autumns. I saw that tipped salmon or coral sweater last week, and I want to see how it fits into my palette. Looks like your color , Pamela, but I have it in my palette, too. Remember 20 years ago when they often had a nice array of tanks and matching cardigans? I miss those. I have my eye on an open jacket that is long and may be slightly quilted, like trapunto. I haven’t seen it on line yet, but it is in the store.
I like softness, too, but I like combining structure in an outfit. I can’t go all soft. I am drawn to menswear vibes at times. The classic and gamine with the natural.
I am also interested in the comfort of the pointed shoes.
Good luck tomorrow. Prayers are with you and your doctors, Pamela.

  8. Thanks so much, Deborah. In my professional life, I was drawn to menswear as well…in fact I was known to shop menswear when thrifting. That coral sweater is still on my radar. Thanks for stopping by.

  9. You look stunning. When I get suede shoes or boots, I spray them with a water repellent spray. it helps keep them nice. We are all praying for you on the big day tomorrow. You will get this behind you. It will be an opportunity to rest, reflect and slow down for a day or so. God bless you.

  10. Thank you, Marcia…this community is amazing. I am so glad you brought this up…I also spray my suede shoes to protect them. We have not had rain in so long that I forgot about it. But snow and ice are predicted for this weekend.

  11. I agree with you about soft clothing. Not only is it comfortable, I think its also quite flattering. Congrats on being down a size though I think you will still be able to wear the jacket. Jackets like this can be “slouchy” especially when worn casually. J Jill is my favorite store. They seem to be able to hit the sweet spot between classic and trendy and I find I wear my J Jill items more than any other clothing brand. Nearly all their current offerings are outside of my color palette. Since I’m detoxing my closet this month its probably a good idea to finish that before buying anything new. I am eyeing their boyfriend jeans and straight leg cargo jeans. Just waiting for a sale. Those pointed toe shoes are really nice and I’m glad they are comfortable for your date night. I’ll say an extra prayer tomorrow for you and your surgical team. Hope it goes as smoothly as mine did.

  12. Thank you, Kathie! I love this jacket and will wear it often! As soon as my eyes can see colors better, I will join you in re- organizing my closet!

  13. That is a nice JJill outfit. I have always liked their clothes I sometimes forget to see what new items they have.
I hope all goes well tomorrow I’ll be praying for you.

  14. Yes! What a nice looking outfit on you. I love the complete look, and may have to copy it as I plan my wardrobe for a trip (by train!!!) out to Washington D.C. area and then north to Niagara Falls this May. That soft jacket style already lives in my closet in a cream version and a soft pink, but navy is the core of my staples and this would get a LOT of wear. I have a lovely tan hobo, in suede, that would work for the purse element but need to find a Very Comfortable walking loafer in a wide to accommodate my inconveniently troublesome toes.
Well, lots of hugs and well-wishes for tomorrow. 💕

  15. So glad I could help you see those new items, Paula. You should look over the website. And thanks so much for the prayers.

  16. I have seen several items in J-Jill’s new arrivals that I want to check out. As I head into February, I would like to add a few pieces that would work now & into spring.

  17. Pamela, you look very smart in that outfit. Pointed toes is a major no for my painful feet. I love soft knit fabrics and soft linen or gauze in summer. At 49 degrees, it is sweaters and jeans for me with wool socks and Skechers slip ins. That sweater will look beautiful on you. By the way, I love the color of your hair. Your complexion just glows. I think you are very sensitive to color and will be very happy after you are finished with your cataract surgeries in two weeks. It is going to be a bit confusing to your brain having one eye done and the other not done. Sort of like having glasses with one eye tinted a yellowish grey and the other bright and colorful. Be patient. I’m holding your hand throughout the procedure virtually. Prayers coming your way from Colorado.

  18. That outfit really suits you very well, especially the slim leg pants. You look great! I do agree with you about sizing down on the jacket. It is beautiful and something I would like for myself. I agree about soft clothes, the older I get the more I appreciate the comfort of cozy clothes. Looks like date night was fun and delicious and now I want Mexican food! Good luck with your surgery today!
