Weekly Devotions for Women

Happy Sunday, friends! Welcome to Weekly Devotions for Women.
As I write this weekly devotions for women, I have been sitting for what seems like hours, in the quite, and watching the snow fall.
Rarely can we enjoy it for this long.
The gentle flakes floating down without stopping…fireplaces puffing out smoke, wind whipping up drifts on houses….all are rare in Texas.
So, please do not make fun of us with our fascination and a touch of glee.
At this time on Saturday, we are still facing an ice storm…that is the tough part.
But, for now in the peace of the moment the snow brings me back to my Heavenly Father.
An amazing, creative God who has made a diverse world of seasons, animals, people, stars and….snowflakes…each one unique…how incredible is that?
I am pondering how we are snowflakes within this vast creation…..
WEEKLY DEVOTIONS FOR WOMEN: UNIQUE IN EVERY DAY

This is my Bible…and I want to share with you the two pages I have studied the most since I accepted Christ into my Heart at age 25….47 years ago!
God has made each of us unique women and we are to celebrate our differences…however, he has also given us guidelines in Proverbs 31:10-31 of how He desires that we all have noble character.
And to God, noble character is “worth far more than rubies.”

The Proverbs 31 woman is even ready for the snow!
Throughout my life, I have set these traits of a woman with noble character as personal goals.
Praying specifically over every trait and verse for my life.
This woman is smart, compassionate, diligent, industrious, wise, influential, efficient , strong, dignified and kind.

Strength and Dignity are what God has chosen for her wardrobe…and I love that fact that she laughs and has joy from her strength and preparedness.
After I accepted Christ and desired changes in my life, I would often return to Proverbs 31.
I wrote down each verse to practice and memorize, and studied each word. I also enjoyed reading the section in different translations of the Bible.
I wanted to experience God in powerful ways and He lead me to focus and pray over Proverbs 31.
Of course, there were difficult times, but I still believed following her example of these noble traits that I would persevere through anything…and God has seen me through.

I would love to meet this woman some day and thank her for walking with me through my life.
While I know we are different and unique, we respect, love and worship the same God. That is what it means to “fear God.”
We desire to follow His Ways…because He knows what’s is best for us.
I pray each woman here today will be clothed in Strength and Dignity.
The unique snowflakes are still falling..what a precious gift…to be recovering during a time I can watch the snow.
Thank you for joining me for the Weekly Devotions for Women.
Hopefully I will be back tomorrow…..until then….
EMBRACE TODAY & KEEP SMILING…LET’S LAUGH AT THE DAYS TO COME!
By Pamela Lutrell

Can’t overlook the fact that the “Proverbs 31 woman” was not at ALL indicative of the average woman at the time the chapter was written. You forgot to mention that she was very wealthy, and in the Israeli patriarchy that was seldom the case. Look at the history of that time period please
The particular verse that struck me is “she is clothed in strength and dignity, and can laugh at the things to come.” I realize now as I’m almost 80 that I often laugh at myself and speculate at things to come in my future as my body I’d aging. I have a much younger friend who is in the last stage of her hospice care as she wants no more cancer trials, and her impending death has me very thoughtful this morning of her life and mine. I attended a prayer vigil for her yesterday and though not surprised, hear the many prayers on her behalf extolling her kindness and compassion for others, and always her sweet smile. I only hope I have left a favorable impression on others as she has. Sorry to sound depressed today…yesterday was a sad day both nationally and locally. I pray for our nation.
I have never read Proverbs 31 that closely before. It does remind me to listen to what this verse is telling me. I am going to take time and read it carefully.
I hope you have electricity and stay warm and safe.
I am well aware of the history and the woman. That does not negate the fact that God allowed her to be an example to us of good character for women of all types. It is first best to ask…what are you teaching me Lord.
I completely understand, Celia. The passing of a dear friend is difficult no matter the circumstances. I pray for your comfort today, and so glad she was honored for her kindness and compassion.
Yes…we have all we need and I have really enjoyed the beauty of the moment. I encourage to spend some time in Proverbs 31 and ask God…what are you teaching me today, Lord. To be women of strength is so important…no matter our circumstances.
My favorite chapter in the Bible is Proverbs 31. It teaches me how to have the character that my children need for themselves so I am challenged to be the right example. I am so thankful I don’t have to work on it myself because Jesus is the one who helps me.
We are continuing to pray for your recovery. Blessings always
Thank you, Audrey! A big AMEN to the fact that Jesus helps us through…we can bring Him anything.
Thank you for the message today. To be clothed in strength and dignity…what a wondrous thing to feel that level of assurance in facing life.
I have been following the weather, hoping and praying for everyone’s safety. Good to hear you are enjoying the snowflakes.
I know the snow and ice can be difficult for some…especially those who have it for long periods of time. Since it is rare for us, I do enjoy the beauty of it all. Thanks Connie
Prayers for all who are dealing with inclement weather! Stay safe and warm, Pam🙏
Thank you for the message this week. I’ve read Proverbs 31 several times and its time for another reading. Glad you are enjoying the snow and I hope you do not get an ice storm. We had some ice overnight Its melted now but temps are dropping and there’s a chance for more. Hope everyone stays safe.
Time to take a deeper look at Proverbs 31 … thanks for the reminder.
At 81, too many dear ones have passed before. Women must be strong as we bare and raise the children. But we also most of us must be educated and work in a profession, still cook and clean. Our days are long but we laugh, read stories to our kids and grandchildren, say goodbye to friends who pass ahead of us. We give hope and live with joy and love in our hearts. Good lessons today. It snowed here as well, only a couple of inches but beautiful like a snow globe. I love the snow.
I am happy that you are enjoying the beauty of the snow. Yes , every flake is different, just like all of us. The world is clothed in beauty, strength, and dignity from the point of view of the watchers who are lucky enough to be snug, cozy, and safe. There are many other people to pray for as well, as we all know. May everyone here, especially Celia, who is losing a friend, be aware of the fragility of life.
Living in the Midwest, we do get our share of snow, but there is always something so peaceful about watching God cover the landscape with a pristine blanket of white. We had seven plus inches this morning, but I am sure there is much more now. It is light fluffy snow, so power outages shouldn’t be a problem. I am praying for all those who in the path of the ice storm, as that is much more dangerous.
We have a lot of snow here in western KY but still have power and do not have to go out. Proverbs 31 was the topic of my grandmother’s funeral many, many years ago. I also paraphrased it on a scroll to honor my mother on her 80th birthday. I love your idea of praying over it verse by verse as I have always thought it to be a lofty goal I could never reach. But with God all things are possible.
