NEW TALBOTS TOPS ON SALE: BLOUSES AND SHIRTS

I believed there were more notable new Talbots tops in the blouses/shirts catagory.

Here is a soft, feminine way to take a love of animal print into spring.

It is the feature picture at the top of the post today.

This is the RUFFLE TOP – ALLURING LEOPARD in a print called Ivory/Cobblestone Multi.

I like the unique colors of this striped blouse…it just has a cool vibe to it.

This is the THE DAILY SHIRT IN COTTON POPLIN STRIPE…in colors ivory and apple.

I might even try this styling of unbuttoning TWO buttons from the bottom…That leaves three actually buttoned up.

Many tops in the new Talbots arrivals have matching pants…this is one of them.

The EMBROIDERED POPLIN TOP comes in dark orange and black.

The design of this new tunic looks very flattering.

It is not too long…as many tunics are…and the sleeve length, V-neck, and rounded hemlines are all features that will flatter your shape.

It is the DOLMAN SLEEVE DENIM TUNIC in dark blue.

I would love to see this design in some lovely colors.

This is a similar style in a linen top with a little shorter length….and matching cargo linen pants!

This is the VISCOSE LINEN V-NECK TOP in a deep, cypress green.

There are MANY stripes in the new Talbots tops.

I like the collar and zipper design of this one for a more flattering fit.

It is the OTTOMAN KNIT HALF-ZIP PULLOVER in a shore/blue&white print.

Shades of yellow are big again this year….so there will be more coming.

This is the MODERN CLASSIC SHIRT – POETIC FLORAL in sunshine yellow print.

NEW TALBOTS TOPS ON SALE: NOTABLE TEE TOPS

I like that the new Talbots tops show us stripes in different colors….including for warm palettes.

This is the ORGANIC COTTON STRIPE SHORT SLEEVE TEE in a ivory/hibiscus stripe…which looks like a warm terracotta color.

And here is a lovely detail on a simple tee….would be so pretty under a third piece.

This is the LACE TRIM CREWNECK TOP...which comes in four colors.  Pictured is the Vista Blue.new Talbots tops

This is the navy CREWNECK TEE – BEADED GARDEN.

The floral accents are done with lovely beads.

  1. I got my catalog yesterday, and have to admit I was a little disappointed. After a couple of really great seasons, Talbots seems to have played it very safe, and their color selection of basics seems more limited than in years past. They are also obviously marking things up to be able to have one of their endless “sales.” Their shoe selection looked better, but all their shoes are too narrow for me. It’s early days … perhaps they will release more for us warm ladies. A side note that I often unbutton shirts at the bottom (not exposing my belly, but up to the waist) and think it’s slenderizing on me to get a peep of a bit of the body contour under all that fabric.

  2. I agree that there is not much there for a warm and bright lady like me…but I did try to highlight a couple that I believed were in the warm categories. It may be a difficult spring season for a spring!

  3. I am glad that LindaLM made that point about the price and sales. When I saw the price if the cobblestone blouse, I thought ‘Oh, my!’ My ‘go to’ pieces at Talbots have usually been the slim jeans and matching knit tops to use as a base. They fit well but are just basics. I also like the chunky knit sweaters from Haven but they are rarely in my palette. I usually keep my eye on a piece that works for me and wait for a 40% off one piece sale. I think that one issue I am having is that I am trying to add a bit of gamine to my style and I am not going to find too much of it at Talbots. I am chuckling, Pamela, because whenever someone tries to add an influx of their proper colors to their closet, they seem to evaporate. Patience!

  4. The words of Linda LM’s consultant now ring in my head…Wait do not settle…the first year I just wanted to dive into new colors…this year, my shopping will be more purposeful…and with patience. Thanks Deborah.

  5. I’ve gotten much pickier lately about new purchases. Doing a serious elimination of what was hanging unworn in my closet really brought it home. A couple of items still had hanging tags. A few were previous life holdovers. Clearing them out was a bit painful, kind of like pulling a bandaid off. So even though this time of year there’s always an urge for something that heralds the coming season I’m holding firm and not settling. Color, style, fit and fabric content all have to be right for me. Right now it not a great time for autumns to shop; most of the colors offered don’t fit my palette and the spring styles are often too girlish for my style. I still enjoy looking though I also find the constant “sales” at some retailers annoying.

  6. I also am taking notes as I begin this closet clean…and agree..the constant sales are confusing. Thanks Kathie

  7. Ugh! Where is MY Talbot’s catalogue?! Thank you for today’s round-up, otherwise I wouldn’t even know I’d missed a new catalogue. Two streets over there’s a house with the same numbers as ours, and we occasionally end up with each other’s mail. 🤷‍♀️
Anyway!!! I’m fairly determined not to buy much ahead of our big selling/moving this spring/summer, but golly!, my freshly cleaned out and organized closets have plenty of room! That little striped tee caught my eye, as did several of the recent J.Jill catalogue’s striped tees. I’m not sure what it is about stripes, but they feel fun in warmer weather. I also like them accented with a floral scarf now and then.
Our party was great fun last night. We enjoyed jambalaya, a spicy gumbo, crab cakes with remoulade sauce and all sorts of non-mardis-gras dishes.

  8. Now…I am hungry…crab cakes are a favorite of mine! Sounds like it was great fun. Stripes seem to be bigger than ever going into spring…so you are right to play with stripes!

  9. The latest Talbots catalog was rather disappointing. If you know of any manufacturer who makes pants that are longer than ankle length and have belt loops, please let us know. Talbots pants seem to be ankle length or wide leg that flop on the ground. Quince ponte knit pants fit the bill. I hope they will have similar pants but in lighter fabrics.

  10. I love the Denim tunic and I also love the striped tee with the sweater look pants. Looks so comfortable to curl up with a book or watch the Olympics. I seem to be living jeans and tees with a flannel shirt over the top with three buttons done up for warmth. It has turned very windy and in the forties here. Sure wishing for rain or snow. Some seasons I can’t find anything in my cool light blues and pale greys. But I can wait. I’m only 81! LOL!
